Questions, answered plainly.
What it does today, what it doesn’t yet, and how it looks after you.
The basics
What can alfriend arrange?
Food and groceries it orders for you, on DoorDash, Uber Eats, Instacart and Amazon. Flights, stays, tables, cars, rides and the extras a trip needs, it finds across the sites you would check, with live prices, and opens the page for you to book.
Does it book travel for me?
Not yet. It finds the best, says why, and opens the booking page. Booking for you, through your own accounts and inside your limits, is next.
What are templates?
Searches you keep to run again. Next time, fill in only what changed: the dates, who is going, a budget.
Which devices does it work on?
A Mac, with an iPhone app that pairs with it. If your Mac is asleep, what you asked starts when it wakes.
When can I get it?
We are inviting people in small groups. Request an invitation.
Why the name?
Every hero has someone at home who quietly handles everything else. We thought you should have one too.
Money
Will it spend money without asking?
Only up to the limit you set for each service. Anything above it waits for your yes. Set a limit to zero and it always asks.
How much does it cost?
One membership, $20 a month, everything included. See pricing.
Do I pay separately for what it orders?
Yes, the same as if you ordered it yourself, on your own account, at the merchant’s price. alfriend adds nothing.
Can I cancel?
Any time. Your membership runs to the end of the month you have paid for.
Privacy
What does it remember about me?
What you tell it and what your orders show. You can see all of it in Preferences, and change or forget any of it.
Where do my logins go?
They stay on your Mac. alfriend signs in to sites in its own browser there, as you would.
What happens when a site asks for a code, or a check?
It asks you. alfriend never routes around a check.
At your service.
We're welcoming people a few at a time.
A thank-you now, and one email when your place is ready. Nothing else.
